East Oakland Real Estate

Depending on who you ask, the area known as East Oakland stretches from High St all the way down to 108th Avenue, bordered by San Leandro Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard. Homes in East Oakland have a lot of character, with varied architecture just like the rest of Oakland. Everything from Crafstman Bungalows, Ranchers, Mediterranean, Victorian, Tudor and even Cape Cod style homes can be found. Of course, East Oakland is also home to the Oakland Coliseum where our beloved Raiders and A's play. The Oracle Arena which is adjacent to the Coliseum is where the Golden State Warriors play (at least until 2015 unfortunately).

The Hills is where neighborhoods such as Grass Valley and Sequoyah Heights are located. These areas feature mostly Ranch style homes, and other types from the Mid 1950's. This area offers serenity and views just like most of the East Bay Hills. For example, in Sequoyah Heights you can regulary find deer running about just like in Montlcair. Compared to Montclair the streets are much wider and traditional, as opposed to being narrow and a bit more dangerous.

Currently the Foothill Square shopping Center is getting revitalized. Soon there will be a large grocery story, as well as Ross and several other retail outfits. This is something that has been needed in this area for a long time, as residents in East Oakland haven't traditionally has as much access to shopping centers that are close in proximity.
