Grass Valley Real Estate
Grass Valley is the area located East of Interstate 580, and South of Sequoyah Heights. The subdivisions included in Grass Valley are Chabot Park, Elysian Fields and Sheffield Villiage. This is a very woodsy and tranquil section of Oakland, with many of the homes featuring large lots and private settings.
Perhaps the most well known landmarks of this area are the Dunsmuir House (a museum today), built in 1899 and well known Oakland Zoo. Like Montclair, most of Grass Valley was developed in the mid 1950's which is why the predominant Architecture is Ranch style homes, although there are many large Mediterranian and other types of Mid-Century homes as well. Many homes in Grass Valley feature very large lots, which adds to the rural feeling of the area. Deer can often be seen running about, which reminds one that the Oakland Hills offer a serenity not matched by many other areas. Bishop O'Dowd High School, Fire Station number 28 and the East Bay Bible Church are a few of the other establishments in the area.
Many of the homes in Grass Valley are larger, so there are more families compared to single adults or couples without kids.
