So you've figured out your price range and you're ready to start looking. The first thing to do is to figure out what specific area you would like to live in. If you already have that figured out, then it's just a matter of having your Realtor search for suitable properties in that area. However, if you're relocating and unsure about the area, have your Realtor take you around the areas you're considering and show you some homes there, as well as provide you with information about the communities.
You should create a list of what you're looking for in your home. Do you need a large yard? A "great" room? Are there children in the family? If so then schools will obviously be a factor. What are your hobbies? Is having to commute a factor? You should fully communicate what you want in a home so you and your Realtor can narrow down the choices and weed out the ones that are missing what you need. When you actually start looking at homes, it 's a good idea to limit your daily viewing to no more than four or five homes. This is because it may become difficult to remember your first impression on each one. When you start coming close to making a decision about submitting an offer on a property, make sure your Realtor finds out whether or not there is an offer date or if they are accepting offers "as they come".
